preparations

The past week or so we have been coordinating with the team, Sue Owenson,  that is coming from Zion for conference.   It isn't until Jan 8th, but it does take planning.  There should be about 60-65 here and we will be serving Sunday evening thru Thursday lunch.

The team that is coming will be cooking breakfast and supper with a dessert.  Laurel and I will be taking care of morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea.  Yes we do eat a lot.   :)

So we have been working out menus and shopping list.  Now in case you are unaware, South Africa is not the U.S. and you can tell that especially when grocery shopping.  Getting food together for American recipes is not as easy as it sounds.    Much of the food is the same....hmmmmm......but different.  For example: the sugar here is not as fine as ours. it's more like the colored sugar we use to decorate.  It's still sugar but different..you see what I mean?
