leaving st. louis (posted by Amy)

It's monday morning and they ARE leaving for South Africa......

Mom tried to check in at the kiosk but it said she needed "special assistance." I think we are all aware of that.

Playing with Micah one last time- he will be so big when they return.

The STL airport send-off group.

Can you see the excitement in their eyes?!

The Edwardsville Branch

We were able to get together with Amy, Dale, Adam and Erin for supper the friday before we left, fortunately our oldest Grand, Cori, was able to be there too. It was a great evening.

This month has been a busy one . Adam and Erin celebrated their 10th anniversary so we took care of Micah Vaughn (as Reagan calles him) so they could get away for a few days.

As you can see they "Dressed for Dinner" at the Grand Hotel. One of their favorite movies is the classic " Somewhere in Time."

We enjoyed some firsts with Micah. This is his first supper in his new high chair. As you can see- put the spoon close and his mouth flies open.

Some of the time he was so very happy.....

.....and then there was the rest of the time.

The St Louis kids

I do love to go with Grandpa and Grandma Swank to McDonalds for just, " a little Smackeral." ( that is a snack for those of you don't know Winnie the Pooh) Cinnamon rolls are the best! and that's not all.......

read to me....read to me ...read to me 40-50 times a day but grandpa is always up to the challenge

Carsyn is soooo creative, "Let's build a robot," who is let's???

Yes, Carsyn has the ideas but as you can see she loves to be in charge.

Her creation is almost complete. She is so proud of herself !

Just putting on the finishing touches. She is gracious enought to let Luke and Reagan paint as long as it is not on HER robot. (notice the legs...cubs rule!!!)

The St. Louis Grands

There is always a lot of activity when you stay with the St Louis Grands, so we take our running shoes.

We were lucky enough to be here during Grandparents day at the kids school. Carsyn is already in Kindergarten... time passes even quicker with the grandchildren.

Luke, he's so sweet our little shy boy, 3K is a big step for him. He enjoyed showing us his classroom especially the reading area.

Family time

It is always important to us to be able to spend time with our grands before we leave for an extended period of time .
This year we will be gone for 8 months, a long time to miss the grands.

We spent as much time with Devan as possible. Teanagers- what else needs to be said.....

We sure do enjoy our boys......and Samuel loves the McDonalds play land.

Eli is no exception , Mc Donalds is the only place to be !!!!!!
