It’s been an unusual week. Last week Greg and Carlene, the missionaries that teach the Bible school here, received a call telling them that Greg’s mom was not doing well. They told us that she was put on hospice and her time was short. Then on Sunday, they received the call that she had passed away. So on Tuesday, they left for the states. That leaves Howard and I here on our own for two weeks. (we sure wouldn’t mind prayers on our behalf during this time frame) It was a bit of a shock, but we feel we can manage. However, on Monday evening Howard had chills and had a fever. Tuesday morning as I was talking with Carlene and telling her about Howard she looked concerned. The decision was whether or not to see a Doctor before we had to take them to Durban to the airport. It seems the doctor visit was a good decision. Howard had a bite of some kind on his leg about a week and a half ago. Long story short he has what they call tick bite fever. So, an antibiotic is the answer. We had thought to just wait it out but thankfully Greg and Carlene softly insisted. Now we find out that if not treated, tick bite fever can develop into Lyme disease. We are so great full for God's hand in all of this. Howard is feeling better and two more days of antibiotics and it should be over. I think he’ll be up and running this weekend.
I’m not sure why we are so surprised when God takes care of things. We say we know He’s in control, but we act like it all up to us. Praise God for his faithfulness in our lives.
