Yes, it is true their 6 months are coming to and end. Much has been accomplished by them in the last 5 1/2 months. Dick has sanded and refinished every window at camp, Laurel has made draperies for all the dorm rooms, they have hosted camps and that's just the highlights. They are busy every minute of the day.
They leave on March 20th. Too soon for me and I think (and this is just my opinion) it is bitter sweet for them as well.
The Bitter
1) there is so much more to do here
2) it's cold in Illinois now
3) it's hard to leave family
4) it's a long trip home
5) it's a long recovery from jet lag
The sweet
1) home again, on US soil
2) seeing the grandkids you've missed for months
3) oh yes, and your kids too :)
4) being back with old friends
5) preparing for your first grandchild's wedding
And I'm sure there are many more for each list, but for me it's hard to say goodbye to a friend that is as close as a sister.
Please pray for their plans as they prepare to leave and for a safe and uneventful trip.
They will be missed on this side of the world, by more than me.
